This panel invites papers on “Life Writing at a Distance,” broadly defining both life writing and “distance” as spatial/geographical or temporal remove: Topobiography; eco-biography; heroic memoirs; missionary and spiritual autobiography; letters and epistolary life narratives; life narrative of/in place; biography, memoir and autobiography in exile; expatriate memoirs; life narratives in travel and tourism; ethnoautobiography; migrant memoir and testimony.
