Although this year's Florida College English Association's Annual Conference on October 14-15, 2010 at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida will focus primarily on unity and diversity in literature, literacy, language, pedagogy and creative writing in Florida, we also welcome proposals for papers and panels on everything from Shakespeare and the Beats to grading in creative writing classes and decoding tenure assumptions. In addition to a wide range of papers and panels, we will also have a poetry reading by US Poet Laureate Billy Collins, a talk by award-winning environmentalist writer and filmmaker Bill Belleville, and master classes by critic Roger Rosenblatt and Random House Executive Editor in Chief Daniel Menaker. Submit a 100-200 word proposal by September 1 to mosullivan@rollins.edu with your name, title, institution, email address and any additional participants. Papers on any Florida topic will be eligible for publication in the conference's proceedings, "Florida Studies."
