CFP: Children in Filmfull name / name of organization: SWTXPCA/ACA Joint Conference April 20-23, 2011 contact email: debbieo@okstate.edu Proposals are now being accepted for the Children in Film Area of the 31st annual PCA/ACA & SWTX PCA/ACA joint conference April 20-23, 2011, in San Antonio, TX.(www.swtxpca.org). Proposals are sought that explore and interrogate the representations of children in Hollywood film, independent film, foreign film and/or children’s film. Additional topics of interest concerning children in film may include, but are certainly not limited to: coming-of-age; children of color; negotiations of racial/ethnic/cultural differences; negotiations by children of social, political, economic conditions; children’s relationships with adults, parents, siblings, or peers as represented in film; gender and children; sexuality and children; children of the Diaspora as portrayed in film; children and technology; the child body; ideology and the child; children’s education, and any other topic that deals with the child image in film. Panel suggestions are welcome. Abstracts of 250-300 words should be sent via email to debbieo@okstate.edu or to the address below. Inquiries and panel suggestions are welcome via email.
