Education, Teaching and History Area due December 15, 2010full name / name of organization: Pop Culture/American Culture Association contact email: ejanak@uwyo.edu Popular Cultural Association/American Culture Association The Area of Education, Teaching, History and Popular Culture is now accepting submissions for the JOINT Southwest/Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Association with the PCA/ACA National Conference, San Antonio, TX, to be held April 20-23, 2011. The Conference will be held at the Marriott Rivercenter San Antonio (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/satrc-san-antonio-marriott-riverce...). Submissions that explore, connect, contrast, or otherwise address area themes of schooling and education, teaching throughout history, and/or their linkages to popular culture from all periods are desired from librarians, archivists, scholars, educators, and students at all levels. Sample topics for papers include, but are not limited to: To be considered, interested individuals should please send a proposal that includes contact information (including email, phone number, and professional affiliation/independent scholar status for all contributors) and an abstract of no more than 250 words (electronically preferred) e-mailed/ postmarked by December 15, 2010 to: Dr. Edward Janak Decisions will be communicated within approximately two weeks of deadline. All presenters must be members of the American Culture Association or the Popular Culture Association by the time of the conference.
