Post•45 seeks paper and panel proposals to complete the program for our 5th anniversary conference, to be held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. We are looking to add three to six panels or round-tables.

This conference will host a mix of academics, creative artists, and public intellectuals for a series of panels on media, the archive, film, literature, creative writing, and popular music. We welcome papers and panels from a wide variety of disciplinary perspectives and methodologies.

Paper abstracts should be 250 words and include a CV. Proposals for panels should be 100 words on the topic with abstracts for each paper and include a title and a brief CV for each presenter. Please submit proposals electronically by January 1, 2011 to Anna Dubenko at anna.dubenko@yale.edu.

We will notify accepted panelists no later than February 15th. Panelists must register by March 1, 2011. There will be a sliding scale in registration fees: $150 or $200 depending on the panelist's access to funding. Registration fee will cover the usual access to panels and performances, coffee, and box lunch on both days of the conference; and it will also cover the final reception at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on the second night of the conference. About Post•45
Post•45 is a group of scholars working on American literature and culture since 1945. Formed in 2006, the collective is interested in reassessing the modes of inquiry applied to postwar American culture. How do we categorize and read American writing since 1945? What kinds of institutional structures characterize contemporary reading and writing practices? How do visual media, music, and literature come together in the cultural field? While the collective’s core emphasis has been on literary inquiry, we seek to integrate such approaches with those from a variety of disciplines and media. Post•45 is launching a book series in collaboration with Stanford University Press and an online journal over the next several months.
