Peaks Interdisciplinary Conference - Feb 25-26, 2011 - Northern Arizona Universityfull name / name of organization: Northern Arizona University Organization of Graduate Students of English contact email: ogse@nau.edu Peaks Interdisciplinary Conference 2011 Whether it is Iago, The Blob, or Joseph Stalin, representations and interpretations of evil thrive in literature, history, culture, art, and media. This year’s conference will take a multi-disciplinary approach to these representations in order to explore the ways in which we understand, imagine, identify with, are repulsed by and subvert the concept of evil. Submissions that address the theme will be presented in a featured panel alongside many other panels covering a wide variety of topics from poetry to sustainability. OSGE http://www.cal.nau.edu/english/ogse/peaks.htm The Organization for Graduate Students of English invites you to participate in the 2011 Peaks Conference, which will be held February 24th, 25th, and 26th at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. This year’s theme is “Villainy & Monstrosity: Representations of Evil.” We welcome submissions for presentations, panels, roundtables, strands, and pedagogical demonstrations. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER AND PANEL/ROUNDTABLE PROPOSALS: 1. For individual papers, please submit an abstract (250 words maximum) along with your name, phone number, and email address. a. Creative Writing submissions please include an abstract plus a 1-2 page excerpt. 2. For panels and roundtables, please submit a. A proposal abstract for the panel/roundtable (250 words maximum) b. An abstract for each individual panelist’s paper (250 words maximum) 3. If your panel, roundtable, reading, and/or presentation requires any visual media, please note that a computer (not Apple Compatible) is available upon request. 4. Please submit email proposals as Microsoft Word attachment (.doc or .docx), and include the phrase “Peaks Conference abstract submission” in the subject line.
