This panel invites proposals for papers considering the significance and implications of "voice" in Henry James's work. Topics might range from the impact of orality in James's style to its representation in his prose, from questions of dialogue and characterization to matters of enunciation and narration, from James's awareness of linguistic variety to his remarks about the American language.
