Breaking Out of the Box: Redefining Masculinityfull name / name of organization: National Organization for Men Against Sexism contact email: pkunze@fsu.edu NOMAS: NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MEN AGAINST SEXISM Breaking Out of the Box: Redefining Masculinity Florida State University The NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MEN AGAINST SEXISM holds a yearly National Conference on Men and Masculinity. The 2011 Conference will be held on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee on April 1 through April 3, 2011. This year’s conference theme is “Breaking Out of the Box: Redefining Masculinity.” NOMAS calls for workshops, panels, and papers that evaluate and examine diverse aspects of gender identity, gender roles, the construction of masculinity, and the experience of men’s lives, specifically as related to the role of men as allies in the women’s and domestic violence movements. Presentations can cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to the following: • Sexual violence Feel free to address any questions to Pete Kunze at pkunze@fsu.edu .
