Anna Deavere Smith *
The deadline for submission is January 15, 2011.
The Philadelphia Theatre Research Symposium is seeking abstracts for papers for our fifth annual gathering of theatre scholars. This year's PTRS seeks to highlight the work of new scholars in the area of, but not limited to, solo, ethnographic and autoethnographic performance, with a special emphasis on the work of Anna Deavere Smith. This symposium offers the opportunity to present work in progress and to share ideas with other researchers. We are seeking papers that engage a broad range of topics in theatre and drama studies including, but not limited to, performance analysis, gender, politics, and cultural theory.
Abstracts of 250 words or less should be submitted along with a brief bio to Dr. David Cregan at email@example.com
This year PTRS also seeks submissions for performance in the area of solo performance, ethnographic performance, and autoethnographic performance. Submissions should include the script and a video or video link for the performance. Maximum length is 30 minutes. Artists will be responsible for their own tech.
Performance proposals should be submitted to Dr. David Cregan at firstname.lastname@example.org
We are proud to announce that this year's symposium will launch an accompanying journal. This journal will provide a publishing opportunity for some of the papers presented. The journal will include established scholars but seeks to create publishing opportunities for new scholars and relevant practitioners in the area of theatre and drama.
