SCMLA -- Rhetoric Session (Proposals 3/28/11, Conference 10/27-29/11)
Proposals are invited for the rhetoric session at the upcoming 2011 Convention of the South Central Modern Language Association, to be held October 27-29, in Hot Springs, AR. This is an open panel, and any proposal related to rhetoric within any discourse (political, cultural, literary, etc.) is welcome. However, this year's SCMLA conference theme, Sources of Inspiration, invites us to place particular emphasis on the canon of invention. What are the sources of rhetorical inspiration or invention in its many contemporary forms? Potential presenters are invited to interpret this theme in the broadest sense, related to rhetoric in any of its various forms.
To submit, please send a proposal of roughly 500 words to the session chair, Ryan Crider, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Proposals are due by March 28, 2011. Presenters accepted for the conference will be notified of their status by April 4, 2011.
