Although I welcome proposals on any aspect of composition, for this session I am particularly interested in presentations that address the unique pedagogical challenges of teaching composition to diverse (in the broadest sense) and non-traditional student populations. This panel seeks innovative presentations that embrace multicultural pedagogies and non-conventional approaches to composition and more advanced writing instruction. Possible themes for presentations include (but are not limited to): critiques of conventional methodologies, strategies for overcoming Eurocentric learning models, language communities and dialects, encouraging supportive learning environments, interdisciplinary/multi-disciplinary approaches, integrating culturally relevant curriculum, developing engaging assignments, using online communities and digital media, etc. Send abstracts of 300 words and CV by March 15, 2011 to: Bill Stratton, University of Denver, bstratt4@du.edu.
