CALL for Papers:

The Hemingway Society
Friendship in the Fiction of Ernest Hemingway
Although there are numerous books and articles that focus on the relationships in Hemingway's life, very little scholarship has specifically addressed friendship in his fiction. Yet, friendship, with its benefits and burdens, is one of the constant thematic currents throughout Hemingway's work. To that end, the Hemingway Society would like to invite papers suitable for fifteen minute presentations on any aspect of friendship in Hemingway's fiction. Please submit an abstract of 500 words or more by May 31st, 2011, to Scott Yarbrough, Department of English, Charleston Southern University, PO Box 118087, Charleston SC 29423-8087. Inquiries may be directed via e-mail, syarbrou@csuniv.edu.
