Panel Proposal for CCCC 2012 - Activity Theory
Activity theory is increasingly being used as a framework both to study various communication acts and to create new and exciting pedagogical practices.
As such, I'm hoping to put together a CCCC panel that uses activity theory in ways such as the following:
- To analyze/critique/question a specific discursive artifact in our field or more broadly in higher education,
- To forward a pedagogical method,
- To analyze a specific communicative event,
- To study movement between activity systems, including writing transfer.
I'm open to other suggestions for this panel, as it should allow for a fairly broad discussion.
Please email me your abstract by April 30 if you are interested in joining this panel. I'm hoping for a panel of three presenters, including myself. Proposals should be no more than 250 words, leaving 250 words for an introduction.
