The Queer Studies area of the Midwest Popular Culture and Midwest American Culture Association is now accepting proposals for its upcoming Conference, held October 14-16, 2011, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

We are considering proposals for individual papers and/or panels organized around a theme.  There are typically 4 papers or speakers per standard session. For each paper proposal, please submit a title and 250-word abstract, which includes a mailing address, institutional affiliation, and e-mail address.  Panel proposals should include this information for each panelist in addition to a panel title and designated panel chair.

We welcome proposals addressing the the intersection of queer studies and popular culture and topics can include, but are in no way limited to: queer cinema(s); queer fan culture(s); queer bodies; queer identities; or critiques of sexual or queer media.
