This panel will examine the complex relationship between literature, received wisdom, and cultural knowledge in early modern and eighteenth-century Europe. Prospective panelists are invited to submit proposals about, but not limited to: methods of validating Biblical wisdom; the reconstruction of Biblical stories or parables into new forms or genres; and empirical approaches to religious knowledge.
