COMPARATIVE LITERATURE: DIRECTIONS AND INTERFACES. Lingua & Literatura, v. 20, 2011. Essay deadline: 14 July 2011.
Lingua & Literatura(ISSN 1984-381x) is a peer reviewed scholarly journal based at the Department of Linguistics, Letters and Arts
at URI- Universidade Regional Integrada, in Southern Brazil. This CFP takes as its provocation the very nature of comparativism, which is at a crossroads of concepts, theories, methods, interrogations and objects. It invites theoretical reflections on comparative literature in its interfaces with other epistemes, such as history, geography, anthropology, sociology, art, cultural studies, postcolonial studies and literary theory, and their intersections with multiplous topics, such as territoriality, identity, contact zones, borders, space, nature, culture, postcolonialism, gender, hybridity, and interdisciplinarity. Reevaluations of methodological problems of comparative literature, interrogations of its epistemological foundations, and contemporary views on the field are particularly welcome. Lingua & Literatura will also accept comparative critical analyses, as well as interviews on the topic and reviews of books published in the last two years (2009-2010). Lingua & Literatura publishes essays in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
