[UPDATE] Ishaan Literary Review - Submissions for Volume 1.1
Submission Deadline: Extended to September 30, 2011
Ishaan Literary Review is a new online journal of poetry, short fiction and dramatic works (including plays and screen plays).
We publish (roughly) 50% invited authors and 50% blind read/peer reviewed authors three times a year (Winter, Spring and Summer). We believe that readers should have a chance to see more than just one work by an author, so we will try to publish multiple works by the same author in each issue.
All submissions should be sent to our email address: email@example.com
Please email your work as a Word document attachment. All works should be included in a SINGLE file with page breaks between individual works and titles for individual works clearly identifiable.
Poems – 5 to 10 works
Short Fiction – 2 -3 works (no more than 10 pages a piece)
Stage/Screen Plays – multiple acts/scenes of one work, or two shorter works (one acts)
Please include a brief (one or two sentence) introduction of yourself in your email (no need for a cover letter). If your work is selected, we may ask for an "email interview" and a picture, as well as links to your personal web page (if you like).
◦Simultaneous submissions are fine and encouraged – we want you to get published, of course. As a courtesy, please let us know if a work has been selected by another journal.
◦The author retains the rights to all works published. We simply ask for credit as first publisher in any of your future publications (even if altered), including chapbooks, collections, etc. In short, we want to let the world know about you – please do us the same favor when you get the chance.
◦Finally, we may ask you to recommend poets and writers for future issues. These recommendations are not guaranteed publication, but we hope to build a writing community and expose unknown artists. We all know folks who are terrific but never seem to find the right publication; this is your chance to help a friend out by passing on their name.
We look forward to reading your work.
