Inspired by the 200th anniversary of its controversial publication, this panel welcomes papers that address Barbauld’s *Eighteen Hundred and Eleven* from any critical perspective. Needless to say, Barbauld is gaining more and more critical attention, and this panel looks to harness some of the scholarly energy and interest surrounding this important author and work. The panel will comprise three twenty-minute papers followed by a response to each from William McCarthy, recipient of the 2011 Annibel Jenkins Biography Prize for *Anna Letitia Barbauld: Voice of the Enlightenment.*
