Re-post: This panel will examine citizenship as a trope and a problem in Caribbean literature. Papers discussing texts from the late-colonial through the contemporary moment are welcome, as are papers (in English) on texts from across the Caribbean's several linguistic communities. Submissions that promise to explicitly interrogate the role of the transnational in figurations of Caribbean citizenship are particularly encouraged. Please send abstracts (250-300 words) in body of email to Rachel Mordecai, mordecai@english.umass.edu; deadline is 30 September, 2011.
