"HORROR"

33rd Annual Conference of the Southwest/Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Association at the Hyatt Regency Hotel & Conference Center on February 8—11, 2012 in Albuquerque, New Mexico

The area chair for Horror of the Southwest/Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Association invites all interested scholars to submit papers on any aspect of horror in literature, film, television, or general culture. Particularly encouraged are presentations that fit this year’s conference theme, “Foods & Culture(s) in a Global Context,” which honors the cultures of New Mexico whose celebration of food transcends national boundaries making this a truly international celebration in the Land of Enchantment.

If you are interested in being a presenter, please submit a detailed abstract (300-400 words) for a paper of 15 to 20 minutes reading time via our submission database at http://conference2012.swtxpca.org. Please provide contact information including name, affiliation, and e-mail address.

If you want to propose a panel of four speakers, or three speakers and one respondent, please include the following information: panel title; name and contact information of the panel chair; an abstract for each paper; contact information for each presenter.

All participants will need to be registered by December 31, 2011. The deadline for submissions is 12/1/11. Panels will need to be submitted for scheduling by 12/15/11.
