Rupkatha journal is going to publish a Special Issue (volume 4, Number 1) on Charles Dickens’s (1812-2012) on the Bicentenary of his birth. As this is going to be a celebration issue, we would like to explore the author, his works and his influences from wide-angle perspectives of our 21st century. We encourage authors to submit original scholarly papers and innovative artworks and relevant book reviews on the areas specified below:

Topics

A. Critical Writings
i. Dickens and his times,
ii. Dickens as a journalist, creative writer, social reformer, popular artist etc.,
ii. Dickens’s literary techniques,
iii. Discussion of theme/s of his work/s,
iv. Dickens’s influence on writers, visual artists, thinkers, filmmakers
v. Other relevant areas.

B. Creative Works
i. We invite submission of visual works inspired by Dickens or on Dickens (which may be from his time) on any medium from artists, private collections and archives.

C. Book Reviews
i. Please submit review of books on Dickens (not older than two years).
