Special Topics Session: "Subverting and Perverting: Bad Grrls in Fiction"

This special topics session is a follow up to a successful roundtable at the annual 2010 MELUS conference in Scranton, PA; the 2010 roundtable was inspired by poet-writer Marilyn Chin's _Revenge of the Mooncake Vixen_. In this novel, or book of tales, Chin's Chinese-American twin female protagonists subvert the dominant expectations of gender and sexuality. I am interested in paper proposals that examine the works of contemporary women writers who raise questions about gender and sexuality within and across various ethnicities.
