October 25-27, 2012 Conference
Syracuse, New York
TYCA-NE of the National Council of Teachers of English is currently seeking presentation proposals for its October 2012 conference in Syracuse, NY. Presentations should focus on some aspect of the TYCA purpose: "… the intellectual and pedagogical growth of English teachers and administrators in the two-year colleges throughout the northeast region."
Presentation topics may include: pedagogical creativity, instructional innovation, research, partnerships with four-year colleges, high schools, or community groups.
Special consideration will be given to proposals for presentations fitting this year's conference theme. Theme-based proposals may include: multiculturalism or trans-nationalism in the composition classroom and developmental studies, English as an international language, TESOL, and multiculturalism, internationalism, or trans-nationalism in literature.
Presenters may submit proposals for 20 minute talks (followed by Q&A) that could be combined with other individuals' proposals by the Program Planning Committee. Groups of two or more presenters may submit full-panel proposals for 60 minute talks (which include Q&A).
Proposals should include a 200-250 word abstract elaborating on both the topic and format of the presentation for Planning Committee consideration, a 50 word title and description for the conference program and schedule, a brief biography of each presenter, and contact information for all presenters.
TYCA Northeast hopes to foster creativity and innovation. While traditional conference papers will be accepted, proposals for non-traditional presentations are greatly encouraged and may receive priority consideration.
Computers, LCD Projectors, and on-site tech support will be provided in each presentation room. Wireless internet access will also be available throughout the conference venue.
Send proposals to: email@example.com – document attachment to an email is preferred.
