This event will be a seminar and discussion focusing on creative writing doctoral study, globally, and nationally, with the aim of developing further connections and opportunities for those undertaking or supervising creative writing doctorates.
The event will run from 9.30 am - 3.30 pm, and will cost just $20.00, inclusive of attendance, coffee/cookies!

The aim of this gathering is to bring together colleagues who have an interest in doctoral study in Creative Writing in the USA (including those programs where creative writing works are submitted for other named doctoral degrees), and to discuss the global context of the growth of doctoral study in creative writing, to look at models for undertaking doctoral work in creative writing, and to discuss opportunities.
Prof. Graeme Harper FRSA will offer opening remarks. Graeme holds doctorates in Creative Writing from the UK and Australia, and has recently been appointed Director of The Honors College at Oakland. He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal "New Writing: the International Journal for the Practice and Theory of Creative Writing" (http://www.newwritingjournal.com/) and his creative work has been awarded such awards as the National Book Council Award for New Writing (Australia)among many others. He is Director of the Great Writing International Creative Writing conference held at Imperial College, London, each June.
The day will be divided between morning and afternoon discussions, with a presentation in the morning, and some initial discussion, and then themed discussions in the afternoon, with breakout sessions.
