Topic Description: Proposals might address historical writers or contemporary writers of any nationality. The writers do not necessarily have to be female—though women writers are welcome—but the writers under discussion must represent (a) female voice(s)/character(s)/figure(s). Direct attention to how the manner of the writing, rhetorically, relates to the matter at hand (emigration, immigration, empire, and/or exile), as well as to the imagined/intended audience, is of particular interest.
