[UPDATE] "By the Author of David Simple": New Approaches to Sarah Fielding (ASECS; April 4-7 Cleveland, OH)full name / name of organization: Stephanie Harper Recine / American Society of Eighteenth-Century Studies contact email: stephanie.harper.15@my.csun.edu Just passed her 300th birthday, the popularity of Sarah Fielding is increasing; yet, her life and writing tend to be overshadowed by the critical reception of her brother, Henry. This panel seeks to advance the conversation surrounding Sarah Fielding, especially as it relates to new approaches on themes of gender, nature, trauma, and psychology in her work. Furthermore, papers which focus on teaching Fielding are encouraged.
