This panel invites 20 minute contributions on any aspect of the Movida MadrileƱa and cultural backdrop of the Spanish transition from dictatorship to democracy. Topics may include: punk, sub and counterculture theory, body politics, visual arts, questions of identity (inherited and fabricated), relationships between various media, and the importance of language and aesthetic appearance in the assertion of modernity and transitional culture.
