Proposals for individual papers and panels are being accepted for the Material Culture/Built Environment Area for the Feb. 13-16, 2013 annual meeting of Southwest/Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Association. Presentations in this area may examine any type of human-produced object, construction, building, interior or landscape. Proposals are welcomed from professors, graduate students, curators, independent scholars and other experts. Graduate students should note the monetary awards available for student papers, listed at the above website.
Papers should be approximately 15 minutes long) and should be original works of scholarship that have not been presented or published elsewhere. Proposals for entire panels should include 3-4 presentations/papers, each with a separate abstract. Roundtables should be approximately 90 minutes long. Paper abstracts should be 200-250 words, submit directly to the SW/TX PCA/ACA database at
