The English Department at Carson-Newman College is hosting the Jeff Daniel Marion Festival on Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12, 2013, in Jefferson City, Tennessee. The Festival will honor the life and work of the great Appalachian writer with a series of academic panels and plenary speakers (Ted Kooser, George Ella Lyon, and Robert Morgan). Proposals about any aspect of Marion’s work are desired and should be submitted by December 15, 2012 to Shawn O’Hare at sohare@cn.edu. Abstracts (individual papers or proposed panels) should be limited to 250 words. Early proposals are greatly appreciated.
