The Chesnutt Association will sponsor two sessions at the American Literature Conference, Westin Copley Place, Boston, 10 Huntington Avenue, Boston MA 02116-5798
May 23-26, 2013

Session I: The Gothic in the Works of Charles W. Chesnutt. In approaching this topic, one might consider settings, ancestral curses, archetypes, the double, nightmares, narrative technique, the uncanny, gothic spaces, patriarchy, Romanticism, psychoanalysis, and/or additional gothic conventions.

Session II: Open topic.
