The Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society, an organization of over 250 members, invites paper proposals on topics related to Rawlings’s life and works. Topics might include the following:

• Rawlings and other authors, such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Zora Neale Hurston, Ellen Glasgow, Wallace Stevens, Robert Frost.
• Landscape and character in Rawlings’s fiction and/or non-fiction
• The production of food in Rawlings’s Cross Creek, The Yearling, or Cross Creek Cookery.
• The Yearling as bildungsroman
• Rawlings and film
• Rawlings’s Cross Creek trial
