Dear University of Pennsylvania,
I am contacting you on behalf of the School of Media Studies at The New School in New York City. I would like to invite students in the Department of English to present at our upcoming annual Critical Themes in Media Studies Graduate Student Conference taking place April 5 - 6, 2012 in New York City. You will find our call for proposals attached as a PDF file, which asks applicants to submit their proposals by January 1st, 2012.(In this case email outreach coordinator for PDF)
The Media Studies Department at The New School, as an institution of progressive education, strongly focuses on the intersection of theory and practice-based scholarship. In accordance with our tradition, we encourage the submission of proposals that include short abstracts for papers and presentations on digital media projects (from artworks to apps, games and web-based works).

We’re asking that you please extend this invitation to your students through a department-wide email, newsletter, and/or blog post if possible, as we would love to see the Department of English at the University of Pennsylvania represented amongst the top theorists and practitioners in the field of media studies presenting at our conference next spring.

Sincerely,

William Daniel
Outreach Coordinator
