Papers on Mimetic Theory ( February 15, 2013)
Call for Papers
The NEW journal Skandalon, an International Online Journal on Mimetic Theory, is to be published in the summer of 2013.
We are a small group of young scholars of mimetic theory who are launching this journal as a forum for emerging work by early career researchers.
Skandalon will be an interdisciplinary journal; we want to know in which fields of study you are using Mimetic Theory and how it is furthering your field.
The first volume is entirely open call. Topics of interest include the following, but we also welcome innovative and thoughtful papers that this list does not encapsulate:
Violence In Society
Religion, Spirituality, and Scriptures
Scapegoats within the Community
MT and Government Studies
MT and Literature
MT and Cultural Comparisons
MT and Minority Rhetoric
MT and Anthropology
MT and Linguistics
We encourage participants to submit on topics and areas of research they have yet to fully develop or have always desired to introduce to a public forum. We also encourage unconventional forms of discourse beyond the standard paper. We will be publishing artwork that reflects the theme of the journal. We are attempting to open dialogues and ways of using Mimetic Theory that traverse and push the boundaries of intellectual work. We want to help develop emerging scholarship and see how far ideas can go.
Articles between 3,000 and 8,000 words are invited. Articles and queries can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please submit articles in full by the due date of Feburary 15th, 2013.
