Edith Wharton and Cosmopolitanism
The Edith Wharton Society invites papers addressing Wharton’s relationship to cosmopolitanism. Presentations might address Wharton’s positions on questions of travel, expatriotism, the transatlantic, the urban, and/or the foreign. Papers might also consider Wharton’s complicated relations to emergent theories of cosmopolitanism, transnationalism, and cosmopolitics. Please send abstracts and one-page CVs to Emily Orlando at eorlando@fairfield.edu by January 15, 2013.
