SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND RELIGION
MAY 24 and 25, 2013

The aim of the conference is to consider various connections between language and religion, or literature and religion, and to attempt a new and more comprehensive appreciation of the significance of religion to literary achievements and linguistic studies. We encourage papers that provide modern methodological approaches to the given topics, examine and evaluate interactive relations between religion and language or religion and literature, and analyze contemporary position of religion in literary and linguistic spheres. Authors are invited to contribute paper proposals on one of the following topics (the list below might be expanded according to authors' interests):

 The place of religion in national literatures
 Religion in contemporary literature
 Religion as an intersubjective theme and source of humane ideas in literature
 Religion in literature for children
 Religious/ritualistic origins of drama
 Religion as a secondary semiological system
 Relation between religion and ethnolinguistics
 Analysis of religious discourse
 Postmodernism and eschatology
 Religious motifs in contemporary theory and practice of literature and language teaching methodology
 Elements of religion in the products of popular culture
 Religious contents in theories and practice of translation
 Religion and semantics
 Religion and psycholinguistics
 Religion at the sociolinguistic level of interpretation
 Mythology, religion and folklore in psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics

Paper proposals, containing the author's full name, position and affiliation, e-mail address, the title of the paper and an abstract not longer than 200 words, as well as up to 10 key words, should be submitted electronically in .doc or .docx format, via e-mail to fsj.conference@alfa.edu.rs or conf.alfa@gmail.com, not later than March 1, 2013. Participants will receive notice of acceptance by March 15, 2013. The deadline for conference fee payment (60 euros) is May 1, 2013. Late registration fee (for proposals submitted after March 1) is 80 euros. Conference fee includes conference pack, book of abstracts, certificate of participation, refreshments between sessions and publication in the collection of papers.

Each presentation will be allocated 15 minutes, followed by a five-minute discussion. The working languages of the conference are English, Spanish and the languages of the former Yugoslavia, therefore abstracts should be submitted in the language which participants intend to use during their presentations. Each room will be equipped with a lap top computer and video projector.
