The third Contemporary British and Irish Poetry Conference will be hosted by the Centre for New Writing at the University of Manchester in Sepember 2013.
Speakers will include Seamus Heaney, Paul Muldoon, Gwyneth Lewis, Don Paterson, Matthew Campbell, Clair Wills, Michael Symmons-Roberts, Sean O'Brien, Patrick McGuinness and Leontia Flynn
CALL FOR PAPERS: Papers should be 15-20 minutes long. Please send an abstract on one side of A4 by 1 Feb 2013 to manchesterpoetryconference@gmail.com: participants will be contacted by February 15.

Topics include, but are not restricted to: new developments in British and Irish poetry; poetic form; the lyric; poetry and history; poetry and society; women’s poetry; men’s poetry; poetry and music; poetry and art; gender and sexuality in contemporary poetry; poetry and ideas of utopia or the future; poetry and postmodernism; migrant, diasporic and postcolonial identities; international influences; the long poem; poetry and nation in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales; poetry publishing; the sound of poetry; the little magazine; poetry and translation; the relationship between the academy and contemporary poetry.
