This session welcomes proposals on any aspect of Nineteenth-Century American literature, but especially those focused on the intersections between journalism and literature.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
--journalists or editors as characters
--the “girl-reporter”
--reporter-novelists
--the influence of journalism on American fiction
--literary journalism

The Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association conference will be held on Oct. 10-12, 2013, in Vancouver, Washington.
