MLA 2014 Special Session: Beyond the Proto-Monograph: New Models for the Dissertation (

Focus on how the dissertation should/is changing in response to the digital turn, doctoral reform, or various 'crises.'

Presentations will be Pechakucha style (20 slides, 20 seconds per slide, with automatic slide advancement).

Graduate student submissions will be given preference.

250-300 word abstracts, due by 15 March 2013.

Please note: This CFP is for a proposed, not a guaranteed, session, meaning it is contingent on approval by the MLA Program Committee (which will make its decisions after April 1). All prospective presenters must be current MLA members by no later than 7 April 2013.
