Makurdi Journal of Communication Research (MJCR)full name / name of organization: Communication Research Circle (CRC), Makurdi, Nigeria contact email: makurdi_journal@yahoo.com The Makurdi Journal of Communication Research (MJCR) is a refereed biannual International Journal (located in Makurdi, Nigeria in the department of Mass Communication, Benue State University) that publishes original papers on human communication research, theory and practice. Interdisciplinary or specialist papers are also welcome. All submissions to the MJCR should be empirical. Submissions are solicited for the next edition of the journal which is due Late June, 2013. Deadline for submission is April 5th 2013 NOTES TO CONTRIBUTORS Manuscripts are to be submitted in soft copy by e-mail (as an attachment using Microsoft Office Word 2003) to makurdi_journal@yahoo.com or in a CD sent by surface mail to the address below. Authors shall receive confirmation of the receipt of the manuscript by e-mail, and the manuscript shall be forwarded to one or more assessors. Upon notification that the article has been accepted for publication in Makurdi Journal of Communication and Media Research, the author shall submit an electronic final copy of the manuscript by e-mail (as an attachment using Microsoft Office Word 2003) to makurdi_journal@yahoo.com or in a CD sent by surface mail. Authors are expected to proofread accepted articles but no revisions of the text shall be allowed. The author shall be responsible for securing any copyright waivers and permissions as may be needed to allow (re)publication of material in the manuscript (text, illustrations, etc) that is the intellectual property of third parties. Articles published in or accepted for publication in the Makurdi Journal of Communication Research may not be published in other journals without the express permission of the editor of the Makurdi Journal of Communication Research . The author(s) of every article published in the Makurdi Journal of Communication Research shall receive two complimentary copies of the issue in which the article appears. INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO MANUSCRIPTS The title and author's biographical details (name, department/university, address, position/title, telephone, email) shall be identified on a separate title page only. Format: Font of body text should be Times New Roman Size 12. Alignment should be justified. Paragraphs should be indented with one tab (no block paragraphing, please). Line spacing should be 1.5 lines. Consistency in spelling: Please stick to either American English or British English. Quotations shall be indented (Not enclosed within doubled quotation marks please). Citations in the text shall quote the names of author(s) and date of publication, with page number if appropriate, e.g. Abatur (2008) or (Abatur, 2008:39). Titles of books and other publications on the references page shall be indicated by italics not underlining. References to tables and figures shall be specified in the text... The data upon which figures are based shall be supplied. There shall be no references to end notes and foot notes.
