'Play', BSECS Conference for Postgraduate and Early Career Researchers, 1-2 July 2013full name / name of organization: British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies contact email: postgrad@bsecs.org.uk 'Play' The British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies annual postgraduate and early-career scholars conference provides a forum for postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers working on all aspects of the history, literature and culture of the long eighteenth century. In 2013 our conference will be held at Northumbria University. We invite proposals for individual papers, for full panels of three papers, and for roundtable sessions addressing any aspect of the long eighteenth century. We would also encourage proposals for workshops and presentations in other innovative formats. Whilst proposals on all and any eighteenth-century topics are welcome, the conference theme this year is ‘play’. We therefore particularly welcome proposals for papers that address any aspect of this theme throughout the long eighteenth century and in any part of the world.
