Irish Studies Panel at SAMLAfull name / name of organization: SAMLA (South Atlantic Modern Language Association) contact email: sdyne1@gsu.edu In keeping with the theme of this year’s conference, we welcome papers that focus on the ways Irish identity, space, and memory are shaped through conventionally understood literary genres (poetry, fiction, drama, memoir) as well as work from related fields, including but not limited to art, critical theory, folklore, and film studies. This panel seeks to address recent trends in scholarship and the ways Irish identity (systemic or individual) and space is constructed and defined.
