[UPDATE] Excess: Special issue of The Comparatistfull name / name of organization: The Comparatist contact email: zallouz@whitman.edu Call for Papers: Special Issue, The Comparatist We welcome contributions that examine the problematic of excess in comparative studies and literary theory. What constitutes excess today? What does it name? Who defines it? How do literature and art manage or register excess? How is excess connected to the task of interpretation? Is excess still synonymous with transgression and subversion? Have its connotations changed under the sway of neoliberalism? Topics of interest could include: Scarcity Interested contributors should submit a 1-page abstract by April 1, 2013 to zallouz@whitman.edu.
