Early American Myths, Legends, and Folklore-Deadline April 15
The Americas encompass a rich tradition of mythology, folklore, and legends. This panel explores the construction (and reconstruction) of cultural and national identity through myth, legend, and folklore in the literature, history, and oral traditions of the Americas up to 1860 (or so). Papers from all disciplines are welcome.
This is a special session at the 111th Annual Conference of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association in San Diego, CA, Nov. 1-3, 2013.
