The Walker Percy Society Session at SAMLA 85 seeks presentations on Percy and related authors in the spirit of the conference's special focus, "Cultures, Contexts, Images, and Texts: Making Meaning in Print, Digital, and Networked Worlds." Possible topics include, but are not limited to, issues of textuality; making meaning through signs and symbols; print and audiovisual cultures and artifacts in Percy's writing; Percy's geographically scrambled representations of real locales; networks real, imagined, social, or otherwise; isolation; materiality; and ignored or less frequently examined contexts for Percy's fiction and nonfiction. While papers addressing the conference theme are especially welcome, this session invites papers on any topic addressing Walker Percy.

Presentations should be limited to 20 minutes in order to allow adequate time for discussion at the session. Submit 300 word abstracts along with a brief bio and contact information to Jordan Dominy, Berry College, at jdominy@berry.edu by 31 May 2013. Please include any requests for audiovisual equipment with your abstract. For more information about SAMLA 85, visit http://samla.memberclicks.net/conference.
