Call for Proposals for PCAS annual meeting October 3 - 5 2013, Savannah GA
The Popular Culture Association in the South and the American Culture Association in the South meet every year to present and discuss ideas about popular culture, American and world-wide. A sampling of past topic areas includes film, mass media, sports, myths, utopias,feminist and gender studies, religion, insanity, identity, humor, horror, literature, social history, cookbooks, rhetoric, aspects of material culture, consumerism, vampirism, military history.
We encourage panels organized around one issue or theme.
Papers are limited to twenty (20) minutes or less.
All submissions will be acknowledged.
Please submit abstracts of no more than 250 words on-line at

You will need to request audio-visual equipment with your submission. Only DVD/VCR w/monitors will be provided. No LCD projectors will be available.

We welcome submissions from graduate and undergraduate students. We award a prize for the best student papers both in American Culture Studies and Popular Culture Studies.
