Picking Richard’s Bones: Richard III in History, Literature, and Art

This session calls for papers that discuss any aspect the figure of Richard in English history, including Shakespeare, Sir Thomas More, and in English chronicles of the late medieval and early modern periods. In addition to papers on Shakespeare’s and More’s presentations of Richard, we welcome presentations on Richard and the Tudor myth, Richard in Yorkist and Lancastrian chronicles, and the impact the recent discovery of Richard’s remains in Leicestershire has had (or is likely to have) on interest in and understanding of this complex historical ruler.
