• Great War/WW1 impacts on modern life
• Cubism, modernism, postmodernist movements
• Dadaism, surrealism, German expressionism
• Music hall and/or vaudeville’s demise
• The flapper, Rosie the Riveter
• The rise and fall of the American automobile
• Fred Harvey’s contributions to 20th century tourism/travel
• Between-the-wars culture
• Cold war culture
• The Beats and other countercultural movements
• Expatriation in 20s and 30s Paris and/or the French Riviera
• The Bloomsbury Group
• 20th century innovations in architecture
