Longfellow Revisited: Towards a Scholarly Re-Appraisal
This panel for the NeMLA 2014 Convention in Harrisburg, PA, which will be held between April 3 - April 6, 2014, seeks papers that examine Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's writing (poetry, prose, letters, etc.) and place in the American literary canon. Papers on Longfellow's major works, such as _Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie_ (1847) and _The Song of Hiawatha (1855)_, as well as on lesser known poetry collections and works in prose are welcome. Diverse perspectives and interpretive frameworks are encouraged. The panel looks for new directions in Longfellow scholarship.
Please send a CV and a 250-300 word abstract to Jeffrey Hotz at firstname.lastname@example.org by September 30, 2013.
