Roundtable: Teaching World Literature: Pedagogy, Practice, and Perspective (NeMLA, April 3-6, 2014)
This roundtable incorporates discussion of theoretical and historical shifts, design and curriculum, and methodology and assessment of the world literature survey course. The panel seeks to investigate and create a meaningful dialogue on the broad term 'world literature' as it is used in today's literature departments. The goal is to provide a forum where participants share creative ideas and meaningful insights. To that end, lively and engaging presentations that explore and/or brainstorm ways in which we can view world literature as an important general education course, as well as working studies on perspectives and pedagogy are welcome. Please submit abstracts of 300 words to Michael Modarelli at email@example.com by September 1, 2013.
