Economic history has achieved increasing importance in economics. In the case of Ibero-American countries, historical evidence has shed light and posed new questions on key economic problems for the development process, such as living conditions, industrialization, insertion in the world economy, trade circuits, , institutional evolution, price formation, income distribution and industrial relations, among others.

The journal Cuadernos de Economía invites to submit papers for a special issue on Ibero-American Economic History. Original research papers and historiographical surveys are welcome, regardless of the period or the theoretical approach. Although the issue will focus on Latin America, Portugal and Spain, the questions about the region go beyond the specific frontiers (e.g. 20th Century
multinational corporations, 19th Century financial relations with England) and include the Caribbean. Hence, manuscripts dealing with the broader aspects will also be taken into account.

The special issue will be published in 2014, commemorating the 15th anniversary of the death of Jesus Antonio “Chucho” Bejarano, a Colombian economist and economic historian, interested in agrarian history and conflict resolution, among several other topics.

Manuscripts may be written in English, Spanish, Portuguese or French and should be no longer than 10.000 words (including references).

The deadline for full manuscripts is November 4th, 2013. Articles should follow the journal guidelines
